The Wicks Group (TWG) is pleased to announce that Lenica Morales Valenzuela, who joined the firm as Director for Consulting Services in August 2024, will function as one of the leaders for the USTDA funded project in Mongolia. In this role, Lenica is responsible for the day-to-day operations and the on-the-ground mobilization of the team responsible for the delivery of technical assistance. In addition, Lenica will be responsible for coordinating business development and management of TWG consulting engagements with foreign civil aviation authorities (CAAs), air carriers, and other aviation stakeholders. Her consulting engagements will support regulatory modernization and compliance, government certification of operators, and complex market entry initiatives.
Lenica has extensive experience in aviation regulatory affairs, international market access, and technical assistance. At TWG, she provided key assistance for projects that helped the India and Panama achieve U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA) Category 1 (compliant) ratings and assisted the Angola CAA with improving its international aviation safety standard compliance. Her work routinely includes aviation regulatory revision, developing and delivering training, and assisting CAAs to prepare documentation and staff for international aviation safety audits by ICAO as well as the FAA.
Prior to rejoining TWG, Lenica served as Director of International Aviation Regulatory Affairs at Zipline International, where she was a regulatory leader responsible for strategy development and obtaining approvals for drone delivery operations across multiple regions, including Africa, Europe, and Asia. In that role, she worked closely with CAAs to secure beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) approvals and supported the development of policies enabling advanced drone operations at scale. Lenica brings a cross-functional approach that integrates regulatory, operational, and commercial considerations to deliver practical, implementation-focused solutions.
Lenica holds a Bachelor of Arts in Romance Languages and Literatures from Harvard University, where she graduated with honors, and a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from Stanford University. She is fluent in Spanish and professionally proficient in Portuguese.
