Erin Patton is a Senior Analyst and Consultant at The Wicks Group. Erin primarily works on engagements to assist foreign civil aviation authorities (CAAs) with meeting ICAO Annexes 1, 6, and 8 standards for aviation safety oversight and monitoring, in preparation an ICAO or US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) audit. She has provided both in-person and remote technical assistance of this type to the Bahrain and Angola CAAs, encompassing inspector training program facilitation and records standardization, inspector guidance manual development, and complex document review coordination for air operator certification. Erin’s CAA experience also includes contributing to regulatory analyses for the Azerbaijan, Angola, and Bahrain CAAs.

Additionally, Erin has expertise in qualitative research, strategic communications, and business development, honed through prior experience supporting international development and national security-focused initiatives and federal contractor marketing. Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from American University’s School of International Service, where she concentrated in Peace, Conflict, and Global Security and National Security in the Middle East. She has working proficiency in Arabic.

Representative Experience

  • Analyzing foreign CAA regulations and related guidance to ensure compliance with ICAO Annexes 1, 6, and 8 standards and FAA Model Civil Aviation Regulations
  • Drafting inspector guidance manuals and supporting the development and organization of safety oversight documentation in coordination with senior technical experts.
  • Editing training curricula and facilitating online training delivery for foreign CAA inspectors
  • Tracking document review completion status across more than 100,000 pages of aircraft technical manuals
  • Providing on-site support to the Angola CAA for an ICAO aviation safety oversight audit that produced scores exceeding the regional average
  • Authoring course guides, presentations, newspaper articles, and website content for multiple organizations
  • Coordinating international project logistics to support technical assistance projects in Angola and Bahrain.
